‘You Do Get Dirty’: Meet Adam Ricard, A Gas Fitter In Terrace

Adam Ricard isn’t afraid of a little dirt and grime.

The gas fitter from Terrace, BC, admits that “it’s not a clean job,” but he loves being of use to his community.

“If anyone’s looking to get into this trade I highly recommend it,” Ricard says in a new YouTube video posted by WorkBC’s Career Trek.

Don’t know what a gas fitter is? The video explains that it’s someone who “keeps houses warm, furnaces on and stoves working.”

Ricard is employed with the company Acadia Mechanical. And as the video’s host Mariam explains, Ricard has “technical skills and a calm disposition,” which is essential for working with flammable materials.

Check out the video to “discover what’s challenging and rewarding about this career.”
