The war in Ukraine is thousands of kilometers away.
But it felt intensely personal for the dozens of people who showed up at an event in Smithers this week protesting the Russian invasion and standing in solidarity with Ukranians.
“We do not want any war, no matter what country,” said Luba Kasum, one of the event’s organizers.
