On Monday, May 26, Prince Rupert RCMP responded to a reported break-and-enter incident at a residence on Overlook Street.

“A person of interest has been possibly identified as police continue to investigate,” said Corporal Madonna Saunderson from the RCMP.

Sheri Reece, a home resident, said the perpetrator broke into her house around 6 a.m. At the time, eight members were asleep inside.

“We are still shaken up and having to sleep in twos.”

Although shocked by the incident, Reece said she was relieved that the unwelcome guest did not harm any of her children.

She added that nothing of value appeared to be missing from the home. However, the intruder dropped her daughter’s black skirt on the porch during the chaos of being chased out.
