Kitwanga Farmer Explains The Protean Power of Poplar Trees

The poplar is not exactly the most beloved tree in the forest. Spend a minute Googling and you’ll find stuff like “How to kill poplar trees”, “The Unpopular Poplar”, and “Why We Hate Poplar Trees.” 

But Kitwanga farmer and Skeena Strong contributor Jacob Beaton thinks the poplar’s bad reputation is undeserved. “This is a tree most seem to hate, but we have learned to LOVE it on our farm,” he says in a new Facebook video. 

Watch him explain nerdy but fascinating facts about the poplar, along with the number one reason why farms and properties should have them.
