People In Kitimat Are Loving This Fascinating Historic Video From The 1950s

It’s called ‘the early years in a remote north coast town.’

You might think that home video footage from the 1950s about Kitimat would put most people to sleep. Instead, a new historical post on Youtube entitled ‘the early years in a remote north coast town’ is getting a huge reaction.

“I’m delighted with the feedback the 1957 home movie reel received, some 4000 views,” explains Francois Arseneault, a B.C. history buff who likes to post historical footage from around the province. “It appears it in fact is likely from 1958, thank you to a couple of sharp eyed viewers spotting a few ’58 Chevys.”

The video was put online by Reel Life / CanadaMotorSport and Arseneault provides the introduction.

“An amazing find,” one viewer writes.

“I’m watching inside in my place in Kitimat resting and drying out all my stuff after a day in the snow/rain yesterday,” says another.
