This Gitxsan Dude Spent Years Flying His Drone And Now He Wants To Share His Footage

His first video shows Hazelton, Gitanmaax and Ksan Historical Village.

Alex Stoney loves the way his traditional territories look from the air.

The Gitxsan drone operator did his first aerial expeditions starting in 2019.

“I’ve been flying for about two and half years and I thought it was about time I shared my footage,” Stoney explains in a new video posted to his YouTube account.

On Canadian maps the local mountain range is called the Rocher Déboulé Range. But to the Gitxsan it is known as Stegyoden.

“This is the first video in a short series that shows the many different angles of Stegyoden in the Gitxsan Nation,” he says.

“Yay! I’m excited for this,” says one viewer.
