‘Don’t give bears an opportunity to get into garbage.’

The B.C. Conservation Officer (CO) Service has some simple words of advice: don’t leave food in your car. Or you could learn the hard way like this person in Terrace.

“It’s almost December but that doesn’t mean all bears are denning,” the organization said in a recent Facebook poast. “CO’s across B.C. are still dealing with conflict calls – don’t give bears an opportunity to get into garbage, pet food or birdseed and create a public safety risk.”

It went on, “Even your car isn’t a secure spot to leave attractants.”

“Wow! Destroyed,” wrote one commentor.
