This Video Shows How Insanely Hard Commercial Crabbers In Rupert Work

‘No more ‘hard days’ after you come off this boat.’

Beau Laughlin spent some time commercial crabbing this year on a boat called the Lasqueti Explorer. And a video he just posted will give you a whole new appreciation for the job.

“Wanted to share a little bit of what life is like on a commercial crab boat,” he explains. “Footage was taken up in Prince Rupert and out on the Hecate Strait.”

Between the long hours, grueling labor and blasts of icy cold wind and water, this is not a job for the faint-hearted.

“A buddy of my buddy was on this beast, never met him but based off this footage, I don’t think I’d win the ‘fuck I had a hard day at work’ argument,” one commenter writes.

“There are no more ‘hard days’ after you come off this boat,” Beau replies.
